The musical theatre track is an area of emphasis for BA in theatre students who wish to focus their studies on musical theatre vocal performance and dance. Students must audition for admission into the musical theatre track. Students who are accepted into the track will study dance techniques, vocal performance, musicianship, musical theatre history, and cabaret performance. UA Theatre & Dance produces three musicals a year that offer students studying musical theatre performance opportunities. Two of the musicals are produced during the season. The third, SummerTide Theatre (UA Theatre & Dance’s professional production), produces a musical each summer in Gulf Shores, AL. Additional opportunities for musical theatre students include Bama on Broadway, internships and mentoring.
