Pace School of Performing Arts’ Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theater offers elite training by well-connected professionals working in the industry that combines the disciplines of acting, music, and dance.
Designed to train the unique performer, the BFA in Musical Theater major offers you the opportunity to showcase your abilities and talents while preserving and refining your individuality. Our acting, music, and dance courses have all been designed with the professional musical theater performer in mind, and each class seeks to bring together these three disciplines into a cohesive synthesis.

· 1 dance solo – can be in a studio or as a featured dancer and choreographed by yourself, a teacher, or friend

· 1 “wild card” that can be anything you want – be your creative and interesting self

· Two contrasting song selections, each under 1 minute
· Have 16-bar cuts of these ready should the faculty request a shorter version
· You are required to have sheet music to supply the accompanist for on-campus auditions
· For Chicago and Los Angeles auditions, you’ll use recorded accompaniment
Monologue
· 1 contemporary (written after 1945) monologue from a published full-length play
· 90 seconds
· The faculty may give you adjustments or other direction on these at your audition
Dance
· Half of the audition will be a dance call consisting of ballet, jazz, and tap
· Bring appropriate shoes and attire

Pace University offers a substantial amount of merit and need based scholarships and grants. University-sponsored scholarships are awarded to students on the basis of academic merit, service to the community and financial need. To be eligible, students must be admitted as matriculated students in a degree program. University scholarships and grants are not available for the iPace or NACTEL online degree programs.
