Auburn University Theatre is a NAST (National Association of Schools of Theatre) accredited institution offering a B.A. degree in theatre and B.F.A. Degree tracks in Performance, Music Theatre, Design/Technology and Management. The department is housed in the award winning Telfair Peet Theatre and focuses exclusively on undergraduate theatre training offering students the opportunity to acquire and apply a broad spectrum of theatre skills rooted in a liberal arts context designed to promote a strong understanding of theatre history and literature, and provide students with critical thinking skills that will richly enhance their work as theatre performers, directors, designers, technicians, and stage managers.

On-Campus Auditions:
Scholarships are available in varying amounts to both incoming students as well as continuing students. These scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic standing, professional potential, and recommendations. Recipients of theatre scholarships must be theatre majors. Both new students and returning students must maintain a cumulative 3.0 grade point average for either their high school or college work. Scholarship awards are made annually to entering students only when audition or portfolio is presented. Those holding theatre scholarships must maintain a 3.0 grade point average for the duration of the scholarship. Application for scholarships by current Auburn Theatre majors may be made during the Spring semester when an announcement is made about the audition date(s). Students should submit the scholarship application form, a resume, and letters of recommendation. Faculty will consider student applications and the entire body of a student’s Auburn Theatre work in determining scholarship awards for current students.

BFA Music Theatre and BFA Performance majors perform a senior showcase in Atlanta, GA
Freshman are encouraged to become involved in the production season, as actors, technicians, student dramaturgs, running crew, and stage managers
Students are encouraged to explore internship opportunities in professional theatres, and to attend professional conferences for auditions and job interviews that afford the opportunity to work professionally in the summer
